Results of the 40th Chablis Wine Competition

Held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, the 40th Chablis Wine Competition was presided over by Julia Scavo, an internationally recognized sommelier. The event was organized by the Office du Chablis, in partnership with the Bourgogne Wine Board.

This year, the 65 members of the jury tasted the vintage 2024 for the Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis Premier Cru appellations and the vintage 2023 for Chablis Grand CruThey awarded 23 medals out of the 233 wines tasted.

A special feature of this competition is that professionals entering their wines are not allowed to be members of the jury. The panel includes journalists, restaurant owners, sommeliers, wine traders, oenologists, wine growers and enlightened amateurs.

The wines are judged in two rounds of tasting: the wines that score highest in the first round, when they are sampled by all the tasters, are then put before a “super” jury, which selects the medal winners.
