A survey carried out in 2022 among 1,200 mid- to high-end French restaurants shows that the Bourgogne region was the leading production area in terms of still wine offerings in this sector. It accounted for 19% of references (ahead of the Rhône and Bordeaux regions), despite a rather high median price. It was available in 75% of restaurants surveyed, with an average of nine references per establishment.

In terms of white wine sales, the Bourgogne region is by far the leading production area in terms of the number of references, with 28% of the national offer in this color. It mainly has to contend with Loire wines, as well as with local competition in wine-growing regions.

With a presence rate of 33%, the Chablis AOC was the Bourgogne appellation with the highest presence in cafés, hotels, and restaurants, up on 2019 numbers.

Chablis wines also accounted for more than 20% of all white Bourgogne wine sales to supermarkets in 2023.
