It’s official! The work on Chablis’ Cité des Vins de Bourgogne will start soon.

The construction permit for La Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne in Chablis has been granted. Work can therefore begin this summer, the week of July 5, with the opening projected for summer 2022.

La Cité will be housed in the historic site of the Cellier du Petit Pontigny and will also occupy a new extension of an existing wing of the Petit Pontigny. The new site overall will make available almost 800 m² of exposition space.

Planned exhibits/events: learn about the culture and the universe of the wines of Chablis, the Grand Auxerrois, and the Châtillonnais; be initiated into the secrets of terroir and winemaking through hands-on activities; immerse yourself in a journey of the senses.

The project Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne is spread over three sites, different and complementary, sharing the culture of Bourgogne winemaking: Chablis, Beaune, and Mâcon. The groundbreaking ceremony for La Cité des vins et des Climats de Bourgogne of Beaune took place on March 12, 2021, that of Mâcon on March 29, 2021. It’s soon the turn of Chablis!
