Come and celebrate the new vintage at the Fête des Vins de Chablis (Chablis Wine Festival) on October 25-26.  Enjoy a fun-packed weekend of special events and tastings.

Every year, two patrons are chosen to baptise the new vintage. This year, we are delighted to welcome Sandrine Quétier and Jacques Bonnaffé, who will then become ambassadors for Chablis wines.

Throughout the weekend, some 50 winegrowers will come together in the heart of the village and organise tastings of wines from Chablis and the Greater Auxerre region.

The programme:

Events taking place on Saturday from 12:30pm to 6pm and Sunday from 10:30am to 6pm:

- Wine tastings of the different Chablis and Grand Auxerrois appellations
- Stalls with local food specialities
- On-site catering organised by the Comité de Saint Vincent de Ligny-le-Châtel
- Live music from the travelling band Pièce Montée
- Children's entertainment: clowns, face painting and a bouncy castle
- An exhibition of wine-making equipment
- A display of prestige and vintage cars (organised by BAYA and Les Vieux Pistons)
- Events laid on by the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne
- An exhibition about Phylloxera by the Chablis Terre d’Histoire group
- A tour of Chablis and the vineyards on the little tourist train

Events on Saturday, October 25:

12.30pm: Stands open
Exhibition of vintage vehicles by Les Vieux Pistons
4.15pm: A performance of the play LE CID by the AMAB theatre company in the courtyard of Château Long Depaquit
6.30pm:  Concert by Celtifort'Air and Food truck Place Lafayette

Events on Sunday, October 26:

9am - 10.30am: Guided walks among the vineyards, organised by the Sentiers Chablisiens group, starting from Place Lafayette and finishing at the viewing point at the aire des Clos. The walk concludes with a talk on the landscape by Vititours, to give a better understanding of the special features of the local terroir. Each participant gets either a glass of wine at the Wine Festival or a free ride on the little train. There will be two departures: one at 9am and the second at 9.45am. Places are limited. Please arrive at Place Lafayette at least 15 minutes before departure. Those taking part in the walk can get a reduced rate at the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne on Sunday.
10.30am: Stands open

11am: Speeches by dignitaries and inductions into the Confrérie Les Piliers Chablisiens  in the courtyard of  Château Long-Depaquit
1pm - 5pm: The Petits Bouchons roundabout Place Lafayette
3pm - 5pm: Charity rides in prestige vehicles with the BAYA organisation

For the sixth year running, the Chablis Marathon will take place alongside the Wine Festival on Saturday, with races for young and old.

Ever since it first took place in 1949, the Chablis Fête des Vins has evolved into an event that is more convivial and festive every year.
