THE CITÉ DES CLIMATS ET VINS DE BOURGOGNE IN CHABLIS WILL OPEN ON MAY 17

The Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne has opted for a staggered opening in May 2023 of the three sites in the network. Mâcon will start the ball rolling on Wednesday 3 May, followed by Chablis on Wednesday 17 May, and Beaune on Saturday 17 June.

Inaugural ceremonies will be held simultaneously in Chablis, Beaune, and Mâcon in mid-June.

The site in Chablis is housed in a contemporary construction that extends from a wing of the historic site of Le Petit Pontigny, a group of buildings constructed between the 15th and 18th centuries that served as the cellars for the monks of Pontigny Abbey. The new complex will include nearly 800 square meters of exhibition space. The Cité will introduce visitors to the history, heritage, and wine culture of the Chablis region, the Grand Auxerrois and the Châtillonnais, through a cultural and educational program comprising introductions to the secrets of the terroir and wine-making and an immersive multi-sensory tour.

The Cité will also be home to the Ponti-Bar where visitors can sample more than 80 references from all across the Bourgogne winegrowing region. This selection will be regularly updated over the year. Seasonal dishes will also be offered to accompany the wines.
